Me and my best friend were going back and forth last night about what “natural hair” is. It started when we saw a girl downtown with a huge platinum blond fro. Her hair looked awesome and I made a comment about it being natural. My bf tried to shut me down and tell me that the girl’s hair was not natural because it was “obviously colored treated”. I considered natural hair to mean someone who didn’t have a relaxer in their head… because in my words… “It’s all about the texture, and she obviously didn’t lose any…”. But my best friend kept saying anything with any form of chemical is not natural hair. I hit up ChaCha (a free mobile service that answers questions, text 242242)to find out the answer.
What is natural hair? It took ChaCha 2 minutes to tell me my friend was correct. When I got home I looked up the source site and confirmed it. According to Milady’s 2008 Cosmetology Textbook, hair is only considered to be “natural” or “virgin” if it has not been altered chemically. That includes perming, relaxing, straightening, bleaching or coloring. I guess she told me, lol.

I would have to agree about the colour thing, especially if she is black and her hair is blonde.
