The Ultimate Hair Products Haul

March 22, 2009

Last Monday, I unpacked all of my new hair products. I usually order my hair stuff in bulk every four months… But all of the stuff I brought will probably last me at least six months this time around.
Here’s what I purchased…

Elasta QP

-8 Elasta QP DPR-11 Deep Conditioners
-2 Elasta QP Mango Butter Moisturizers (Came with free samples of shampoo and conditioner)
-1 Elasta QP Creme Conditioner Shampoo (The Huge 33 ounce bottle)
-2 Elasta QP Recovery Oil Moisturizers

Elasta QP is my staple hair product line. The products are inexpensive and work for my hair. I don’t think I’ll ever fall out of love with my DPR-11 or any of the others listed above.

Hair Products

-1 John Frieda Frizz Ease Serum
-1 Sabino Moisture Block
-1 Lacio Lacio Leave-In Conditioner
-1 Keracare 1st Lather Shampoo
-1 Keracare Humecto Creme Condtioner

If you checked out my Hair Staples list already, you will find 2 of the 5 products above mentioned. I’ve wanted to try the Sabino Moisture Block for months. It’s supposed to stop my hair from reverting due to humidity, steam, water… you get it. I’ll definitely do a review on that, but what made me feel special was the handwritten note from someone at Sabino thanking me for my purchase by name on my shipping statement. What? I have never purchased a product online and received a handwritten note from the company itself. Now that’s how you get a returning customer!

More Hair Products

-2 Bottles of Glycerin
-1 Aubrey’s GPB Conditioner
-1 Giovanni Smooth As Silk Deeper Moisture Conditioner

Yummy… If the Giovanni works, I’ll keep buying it. It’s part of my effort to try out more natural and organic hair products.

Caruso Steam Rollers

Last, I am now the proud owner of a Caruso Molecular Ionic Steam Hairsetter! If you recall my Caruso Steam Rollers and Hairsetter post… ya know I’ve had it on my to buy list for a LONG time… review coming soon.

That’s a lot, lol.

Definitely do a review on that Sabino when you get a chance.

Where do you buy the elasta in bulk?

Dani March 23, 2009 at 4:41 pm

I know, lol… but it is for the next six months. I think I’m doing good with the PJism since the only new items are the Keracare, Sabino, and Giovanni hair products… and the Caruso. *crosses fingers*

I brought the Elasta QP, Frizz Ease, and Lacio Lacio from Beauty of New York’s website. They ship next day and are fast. The other products were purchased directly from the companies. And I used vitacost.com for the organic/natural products.

I’m going out of town in a few days so I’ll be using the Sabino Wednesday. I’ll post a review when I come back on Monday. I want to see if it holds up for a few days in Florida first.

You just had to tell me the same site offered lacio lacio. I had been contemplating trying it but managed to control myself thus far because none of the places I order from offer it.

I’m entering my 5th month of transitioning and I’m so tired of these Kinky Twists. I’m gonna start doing rollersets and I hear great things about the lacio lacio on rollersets.

I promised myself I wouldn’t become a PJ. Sigh.

I meant sixth month* of transition. Yay!

Dani March 24, 2009 at 9:01 am

I really love that Leave-In! I had to cut the rollersetting out because I was causing breakage at the crown of my head. I might give it a go again now that I have more patience.

And you know I know how many months you are in… We started transitioning around the same time, remember? :)

So I went out and bought the lacio lacio, rollers, clips, etc, etc. This is the first time I’m actually trying to style my hair since I started transitioning. I can’t do it, Dani. I don’t have the patience for the rollersets but my hair isn’t long enough to do anything else to it. If I go to the Dominicans to blow dry and straighten it, I’m pretty sure I’m gonna lose my curl pattern (they can be brutal with that blow dryer). This is starting to feel like a relaxer stretch. I’m tired of the twists and I don’t have many options. I’m used to wrapping my hair and that did not work! Lol. I’m two blocks from a bss. I’m tempted to go buy a relaxer. Sigh.

Hey Stacey! I just got back from FL a couple of hours ago. I’m going to email you in a few… Don’t relax your hair girl!
