The Review: I won this product on Dr. Ali Syed’s blog and received it earlier this week. And I must admit that I was a little skeptical because outside of Elasta QP’s Glaze, me and gel do not get along. I’ve tried them all, and they usually leave my hair crunchy, dry, and filled with messy product residue. With that said… Let’s get to the review.
As soon I opened it and caught a whiff of that Peppermint Oil my heart was already halfway won over. See, my great-granny used to place Peppermint Oil on the baseboards because she said it “smelled good”. And yall know that I’m biased when it comes to Granny! The packaging states that the product is “scented for aromatherapy” and for those who don’t know… Peppermint Oil is supposed to cool emotions, dissipate anger, and energize and relieve mental fatigue among other things. So if your feeling like you’re going to punch a wall, take a small whiff of this product before using it on your hair. It might calm you down too, lol.
How did it react with my hair? One word… Great! I used this after a co-wash to tame my edges and nape before I bunned. I applied a small amount to my nape and the front of my hairline with my fingers. Next, I used my fingers to smooth my hair and the flyaway strands down with the Syntonics Edge Define. And then I ran around outside running some errands for a couple of hours. When I returned home, I was prepared for the worst. It wasn’t that I didn’t trust this brand, it’s just like I said above… Me and hair gel have a bad history. But four hours later, my hair looked exactly the same. No crunchy, dry, or residue filled hairline. The flyaway strand count was very low and my hairline and nape area were still in place. If you like sleek pulled back hairstyles and need a new product to smooth your edges and nape… Give this one a try.

Thanks for the thorough review. Glad to hear that you liked the product.
Your welcome. I plan on checking out other products in the line soon.
My hairdresser just handed me a jar today and said that this is the most amazing gel ever. Can’t wait to see the results tomorrow.
This product sounds pretty amazing. I’ll be adding to wish list.
Hi, I’m interested in purchasing the hair product edge define. Where can I purchase it ?
My beautician uses this on my hair. I use to use JAM back in the days, then switched to QP. They both leave your hair greasy and nasty, plus the would only last a few hours and leave the back of my neck all shiny and collar stained (lol). I think this is the best I have come across, and it will last for several days if you wrap your hair.
