I have been transitioning for 6 months. I tried to stick to complete abstinence from heat for the first four months or so, but then started washing, deep conditioning and then straightening every two weeks. I cut back washing my hair to every two weeks because I didnt want to use heat every week. This method has worked ok so far, my hair is in pretty good condition and my stress levels are at a minimum! BUT on the down side I do notice a few ends that have broken off in my bathroom a day or two after I have used the straightners. So i have come to the conclusion that I should cut out use of the heat if I want my hair to really grow.

@ Stacey - Thanks :)

@ Flour - Thanks for stopping by! Yes, I decided to just do whatever I feel like now. At some point the endless protective styling and monotonous regimen just gets old.

Anyway, I just bookmarked your blog and will be a daily visitor. I am such a FOODIE!
