i just want to tell to all the sisters on this journey the simplest way of conditioning our hair. my regimen that i now live by after many months of frustration on how to keep my hair well conditioned. first of all i am a 4b texture i am now 20 months relaxer free. i have experimented with alot of products and checked out numerous videos on youtube about our hair. i found that everyone is different. what worked for me finally was the minimum amounts of shampoos the better my locks. i only shampoo maybe once every 2 weeks and when i do i dilute it only using a dime size amount in an empty container about 10 oz. mix with water, shake up and pour on scalp only to cleanse the scalp . theres not much lather. then i put my conditioner in along with my favorite oil for 5 min. and rinse with warm cool water and wow. combs beautifully . you have to find what conditioner works for you. i co wash during the week with just a conditioner and oil. when deep conditioning i use the same method with additives such as avocodo and store bought products and sit under a dryer 20 th 30 min. my hair never fails me. when its dirty i bun my hair til the weekend. my product favorites are cantu shea butter and a mixture of unrefined shea butter in a bowl melted down with 3 or 4 favorite oils melt in microwave. apply cantu first as the leave in conditioner detangle then apply hot melt oils and twist or braid let dry and wow. i prefer two strand twists fingered out to a curly fro. it works all the time ladys remember i am a 4 b texture. good luck.

This is great information. Coconut oil is really good for moisture as well on top of a conditioner. For anyone who is looking for more moisture, from my experience these products have been good with delivering moisture:

Spiral Solutions Deeply Decadent Moisturizing Treatment

Aubrey Organics Honeysuckle Rose Moisturizing Conditioner

Curly Q's Moist Curls Moisturizer

Oyin Handmade Burnt Sugar Pomade

I definitely agree with your article. I do all of the above and now my once bald head is growing back and healthy. I was told to avoid brushing my hair or use boar's hair brush. I moisturize my hair ends daily with my shea mixture or castor oil. My hair is thanking me so far for this TLC;-)

this mostly to mary. i use heated mayo. No Lie! I do some crazy things to my hair. I mean i die almost every 3 weeks. just for sh*ts and giggles. lol. But get enough to cover ur head put it in the micro-wave and heat it up. put it on ur head and leave it in there for 30 mins. (be warned it does smell and it prolly will turn u off of mayo but its so worth it.) But when you wash it, just wash it normal and style it regular but i normally let my hair "rest" i wrap it or something. it feels amazing for a month then i repeat. i live by this. Hope this helps Hun <3 Good luck!

I just got my first head of braids removed and oh how I regreat putting braids in my hair. I now have lots of thinning & breakage form the removal of the braids. I also have about 1 inch of new growth, which is a different texture from the ends of my hair. My Scalp is sore from all of the activity from the removal and ......I'm LOST ! Church is in 2 days & I have NO idea what to do to my hair. I have nappy, thin , short & long hair. I am just sick & I don't know who to trust. The hair dressers suggest I get a touch up, which I don't think that I am ready for (my hair is weak and in need of rest) but I can't leave my home looking just any kind of way.
I need a hair miricle before Sunday....Please help me if you can. By the way, I live in Austin texas, if you know of a good stylist.
Thanks
