Name: Keracare 1st Lather Shampoo
Price: $6.55 (Price @ the Avlon company site… JCPenny salons always have good sale prices on it too!)
Product Promise: Deep cleans, produces a rich lather to cleanse hair of oils, dirt, and styling products, without stripping the hair.
The Review: I was looking for a clarifying shampoo to remove build up and didn’t strip my hair like my previous ones. Overall, the product was good. Yes, my hair still felt stripped… but it was very mild compared to others. I obviously didn’t do enough research because I didn’t know that this product contains a sulfate… Ammonium Lauryl Sulfate to be exact.
That was actually the only bad thing I noticed. My hair felt clean and surprisingly soft after using it. The shampoo is supposed to be followed up with a conditioning shampoo, and I used Elasta QP’s Creme Conditioning Shampoo(Sulfate-Free) for the job. I noticed a difference in my hair immediately. Yes, my usual shampoo alone is great, but the Keracare definitely gave my hair an extra “ummph” that I just can’t even describe… other than to say it felt good!
Another thing I liked is that the PH of the product, which is 4.5, is clearly listed on the bottle along with the expiration date. Companies should take note of this because more consumers are becoming educated about their hair products… And I shouldn’t have to use a PH strip to see what I’m putting on my head.
