Just For Me Hair Milk Review

Just For Me Hair Milk

Name: Just For Me Hair Milk Collection

Price: $4.99 (Each)

Rating: 3.5 out of 5

This is going to be a little long because I’m reviewing the entire Just For Me Hair Milk Collection. I received it last week to sample and my mom (4b), 12 year old niece (3c), and I (not sure what the heck my hair type is anymore) tried it this past weekend. They are both natural and I’m 8 months into my transition to natural hair. Overall, we enjoyed the products. Some were average and others were pretty good. The smell is consistent with all four of the hair products. It does seem like they were going for a milk and honeyish scent… And it’s probably going to be that you either love it or hate it. The packaging is too cute! I’m a sucker for the pink and white scheme and really like the shapes of the bottles. Kudos to the design team.

On another note, I’ve seen a lot of people on the internet refusing to give it a try because of the ingredients. And I can see why… Some of the ingredients that are present are not needed IMO.  I also think it’s cool that there is a shift towards using more natural ingredients in hair products from consumers. I hope the huge companies that manufacture hair products are paying attention because these indie hair labels are coming for a piece of the Black Hair Care segment.  And they are producing quality products, with majority natural ingredients, at a decent price.

You can check out the individual reviews below.

Just For Me Hair Milk Shampoo

Product Promise: Gently cleanses and makes hair feel softer and manageable.
The Review: My mom and niece put this shampoo through a few tests. I didn’t use it because I just wanted to co-wash my hair. According to both of them, it didn’t strip or dry out their hair too much but it wasn’t as gentle as they hoped it would be. My mom did find a good use for it later today. She went ahead and washed a few wigs with it… and said it worked just fine. Ha Ha!
Rating: 3 out of 5

Just For Me Hair Milk Conditioner

Product Promise: The formula strengthens and nourishes hair, while adding shine to dull strands.
The Review: My niece deep conditioned with this for 20 minutes with heat and she loved it. I’ll admit the her hair looked and felt very moisturized after using it. I co-washed my hair with the conditioner and thought it was just ok. I didn’t love it or hate it. My mom used it as a conditioner and leave-in, and said she liked it.
Rating: 3 out of 5, because it’s my blog and I decide the final ratings (Little C, you can’t give this a 5)… Ha Ha Ha!

Just For Me Hair Milk Straightening Mist

Product Promise: Gentle mist formulated to improve hair’s manageability before combing. Detangles and protects from heat.
The Review: I must admit we all loved this straightening mist. My hair was so easy to finger detangle after I used it. My mom sprayed it before blow drying and her hair came out great. Well, it always comes out great but she did have good things to say about the mist. Last, my niece loved it too. She doesn’t usually have a too many issues with detangling her hair, but we both noticed that the wide tooth comb was going through smoothly after she sprayed the mist on her hair.
Rating: 4 out of 5

Just For Me Hair Milk Styling Creme

Product Promise: Thick, creamy formula that allows moms to style hair with ease. Apply to dry hair for moisture, strength, and a gentle hold.
The Review: I was the only one who tried the Hair Milk Styling Creme. Overall, I really like this hair product. It definitely has a thick consistency and a little goes a long way. I used it for smoothing my hair into a bun and two strand twists that I did on dry hair after I took the bun down. The twists had a ton of definition when I took them down the following morning. I was a little worried about product build-up, but it washed out easily the next day.

I Love the styling cream!!! Though it does have some ingredients i could care less about, but has a good ingredient to which is biotin. Biotn allows your hair to grow faster. I take vitamin B-Complex which has biotin in it! I also have 4b/c hair and my curls have never been so defined to the point where it looks like I have 3b hair! Great review!

Before my daughter’s hair used to be sooo dry and it would always break off when i combed it. Now that we started using the hair milk products her hair is vaery soft and easier to comb. I like the coconut smell on her hair too.

beth June 4, 2010 at 11:34 am

Jordi June 7, 2010 at 11:28 am

I love the Just for me hair milk straighting mist! It works amazing and I love it.

I spray it in my hair and follow the directions, After the hair is soft I comb through it and then I flatiron it, WITH A FLAT IRON THAT CAN BE USED ON WET OR DAMP HAIR.

It comes out great!

I just found this blog while I’m standing in Walmart, lol and after reading it I’m definately gonna pick up the styling creme to use on my 2 strand twist. What else can you suggest for transitioning hair? I’m about 8 months in as well and I’m still learning. Thanks a bunch!

Chasaty July 14, 2010 at 12:06 pm

Thank you so much for the information. I love the mist! It mademy hair soooo soft and manageable. I am in my very first month of transitioning. Wish me luck!

I bought the shampoo for about 3months ago for my 2 yr old daughter and i know that no body is perfect but just to try out the smell on my babys hair i didnt wash her hair for five days and i noticed that it seem like i washed her hair constantly when i didnt, and my family and friends have been askingn me what did i do to her hair because its so shiny, soft and so easy to handle, im even surprised that it has lasted over three months and i just cant find it no more at any store. i been looking for it like crazy and it seemed like it was never on any retail store… so hopefully it expands it at all shopping centers and stores. thanks to this shampoo my daughtrers hair its beautyfull.

Do u think this would work on corse hair? my lil girl is mexican and so I’m I and I can’t seem to find things that work for her hair and was thinking of trying this out.

Leslie October 9, 2010 at 11:18 pm

My daughter is biracial(wht/blk), and I have struggled with finding good hair products for her hair…..For the most part her hair is ver soft, fine, curly, But around her hairline it is more coarse and just frizzals out….. Im just learning how to care for her hair, But I live in a small town so good hair product is hard to come by….I just bought the just for me hair milk shampoo, conditioner, and styling creme….Im wondering if you think this is a good product to use on her hair, or if I should try something else.

dawn October 12, 2010 at 1:41 pm

my daughter is biracial,her hair is very coarse and can get very frizzy and out of control.I have tried so many different hair products on her hair but when i came across the hair milk shampoo and conditioner,i was like wow!! this is the ONLY conditioner i ever used that i could pull my fingers straight through her hair. I absolutely LOVE this stuff. im actually having a hard time finding the shampoo in my area, everyone is sold out! they also sell an edge tamer if ur daughters hair gets the little frizz around the edges. Its the only edge tamer ive got to work on her hair. SO I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS PRODUCT. GOOD LUCK!:}

A lady at my church just recently told me about these products. My daughter is about to be 2 and she is mixed, so I want her hair to be extra shiny! Thanks for the reviews, since I relaxed my hair in 05 it has not been the same. I might try these on my own hair!

luisa January 1, 2011 at 10:34 pm

Hi mmy name is luisa, my dauughter is mix (hispanic and black) and I use hair milk syling creme on her hair and it made it so easy to handle!!! I’m soo relife because other products will leave her hair dry and dull, but this product is just right. Also I use hair texture softener for my hair because I have thick wavy hair and I just hate how relaxers just straighten my hair, but with the texture softern it makes my hair so easy to manage but now my hair is curly, I really don’t mind because after 12 weeks your hair is back to normal. I love the sunflower oil it is very healthy for the hair so I would recommend this product!!!

Angel Correa May 16, 2011 at 12:51 pm

The hair milk smoothing creme gives the best results of any product I’ve ever used. It maintained my unruly hairs throughout the day with no crunch or flaking like gel and other product. ONE PROBLEM.. I’m allergic to an unknown ingredient, my head will rash then peal like a sunburn after 2 days of use. So upseting because the product works SO well. Does anybody know anything comparable?????

Lisa June 16, 2011 at 8:53 pm

I use the Hair Milk and it works wonders. I have 4B hair type and it really detangles as I comb and style. I smells great and alittle goes a long way. It makes my hair silky and very moisturized. I would recomend to ALL hair types.

Latasha June 20, 2011 at 8:52 am

Can I use just for hair milk smoothing creme all over my daughters scaple because I see it only say for your edges

Meagan July 4, 2011 at 9:37 am

My daughter is also biracial and I have had numerous people tell me to try hair milk products on her hair… like Leslie’s daughter, her hair is only frizzy around the edges, but it tangle terribly and she fights to not get her hair done… I had been using the regular Just For Me since she was about 6 mo old and just recently found the Hair Milk 2 days ago while at WalMart stocking back up on her JFM 2-in-1 conditioner/detangler… I still use the JMF shampoo/conditioner but switched to the Hair Milk straightening mist as her detangler to give it a try and so far (still early) I love it…. All of their products smell great and the smell is long-lasting… and the detangler works instantly… It makes her a lot easier to deal with when getting her hair combed (however she is still a lil’ fiesty so if anyone has any suggestions on that, i’d much appreciate it)…. Long story short I am definitely a huge fan of Just For Me hair products and so far am loving the Hair Milk line as well! :-)

sheena July 21, 2011 at 1:47 pm

flat warts May 12, 2017 at 7:17 pm

I’ve found tea tree oil to be one of the very best wart remedy ever before.
You can use it by itself, or you can utilize it in combination with many other things.
Below is just how you could utilize tea tree oil by itself.
Clean and dry the affected locations wkth soap as well as warm water.
Apply a drop of unmixed tea tree oil on the damaged location as well as cover with a bandage.

Or apply tea oil to a plaster as well as apply on thee warts.
Leave for at the very least 8 hrs or over night.
Get rid of the plaster and wash the location wiith water.
Alternatively, you can likewise make a few changes and do this rather.
Mix a few drops of tea tree oil in 1 tbsp of water.

Saturate a cotton round and also capture it to wring out excess.
Apply this mix on the warts as well as cover with
a bandage. Leave it on overnight and wash it off the next early morning.

Repeat consistently. The suggestion behind both of these variants is the same.
The only difference is just how much tea tree oil you could expose the
wart to at a single offered application. With the cotton ball, the ttea tree oil doesn’t dry ass quickly,
so it could assault the wart for a much longer

Nichole L Charles October 25, 2017 at 5:57 pm

I was wondering if by chance you could still manufacture the oil moisturizer with honey, soymilk and Shea butter
Would really appreciate, thanks in advance
