Hair Length Chart

February 9, 2009

A hair length chart is a great way to measure your hair growth and keep track of your goals. Below are the two that I find most useful. As you can tell by the second chart the average person averages ½ inch of new hair growth monthly.

Thank you for posting this. I was looking for the chart with the red hair for a couple of days.

I’m going to buy a white t-shirt and measure horizontal lines with a ruler, and take a picture every month with the shirt on to measure my hair growth. I saw a girl do it on Youtube, and I thought it was the coolest thing.

Hi, thanks for posting this great article as I type this I am just about to wash out my first ever application of MN that I’m using to try and boost my hair growth however any growth I do get will be quite slow to show when it’s dry bcs I have spirally curls. Please do you know where I can view the original of the second chart, I’d love to be able to read the smaller text.

I read that mn is more dangerous to your scalp than a relaxer and if it is used over a long period of time, it may cause some sort of brain damage. Don’t quote me on it but after I read it, I put it away and I’d only applied it once along the edges.

I tried MN like twice and stop. I didn’t experience any side effect, but just the idea of what it was made for and where I’m applying wasn’t making any sense;-) I just stick with the natural items like I put together a shea mixture, which seem to be working. Check my youtube video out.

MN is monistat. Yes the stuff that’s used for yeast infections. I have tried it a few times. Didn’t see any results

For all of you who are looking for a natural hair growth, I’ve heard mashed avocado works really well. If you have frizzy hair you can mix it with honey or mayo to help with the friz.

Prenatal vitamins work amazingly not only for hair growth but nail growth to and makes them stronger

I work in healthcare and I can say that in theory MN (miconazole nitrate or Monistat derm 2% or 4% ) would help to stimulate hair growth. 2 different reasons 1) in contains nitrate which stimulates blood flow to the hair follicle and increases nutrient supply to the hair itself 2) Some people who suffer from new, slower than average hair growth, may have an increased amount of yeast or fungi on the scalp, Miconazole nitrate treats this issue.

However I would recommend
1) using Nizoral shampoo and your favorite conditioner every day x 14 days ( leave nizoral on scalp x 10 minutes ) then after 14 days use nizoral shampoo every mon, wed, and fri
2) Use miconazole nitrate cream (after the initial 14 days) to scalp every tues, thurs, and sat night

Thought I would add….

I have recommended this to a friend who had a bald spot a bit larger then toonie size, Her family physician basically told her sucks to be you and prescribed her rogaine which is a for life type treatment. I suggested the above and after 30 days she has hair growth. yay!

Let me know if anyone tries the above and has success, I’m starting my hair growth journey starting april 1st 2012…. If anyone wants to start with me, it would be fun to track our progress together!

I did the big chop. Then a friend talked me into a texture softener. Now I hate my hair. I want to chop it off again but I don’t want to be bald for graduation. I graduate law school in May!

So I’m going to start a transition. Right now I have a weave; I’m going to leave it in until mid-April then do another weave for our formal ball. Then I’m just going to…let it go. See what happens.

I need to figure out how to help my hair grow because it refuses to go past my shoulders! Anyone want to grow with me?

Omegas! I have been taking them for two years and I did alot to damage my hair when I was younger. My hair was pixie length when I started and now its at my mid-back. I get a ton of compliments on how healthy my hair looks.
