Corrine Bailey Rae is back with an amazing album (The Sea
). I purchased the album this morning on iTunes and love it. It doesn’t have the same light bubbly feel as her self-titled debut, but it’s been on repeat for a couple of hours… And that means I’m feeling it! She finished recording the album after the death of her husband and you can literally feel the vulnerability and loss in her songs. In a recent interview she said, “There are other people that have had these similar experiences … all different kinds of loss, and I feel like a lot of people don’t really sing about it in popular music. I want to be that one voice that is saying that this is also a human experience that is worth making music about.”

I’m happy you featured one of my favorite artists. I love the album too and I agree with the mood of the cd. The song “Are You Here” is almost painful to listen to.
